Inspection of Vessels & Corrosion Assessment Services
Cathodic Protection designs are based on certain design thumb rules, design assumptions and general criteria. It is always recommended that the effectiveness of the design be evaluated periodically by inspecting the protected surface. It should also be borne in mind that as the vessel ages, the protection criteria such as current density requirements will also vary.
Thus, especially in a sacrificial anode system merely replacing the existing anodes one-for-one without inspection may not be the optimal solution. Cuproban has a set of experienced engineers who can visit ships in dry dock and provide an assessment of the existing CP system both for hull and ballast tanks, its effectiveness and advice on anode replacements, additional anode requirements, other corrective actions required etc.
